Re: Fun at the Marketplace
He nodded. "Yes. I have finally gotten a job lately, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to keep it for the whole week. You know what they say; More than a week, it's yours to keep." Actually, he just kind of made it up on the spot, but it sounded more official if you said it was "they" who said it. He saw the other looked insulted when he noticed that he had averted his eyes. "Sorry, it's just, I haven't seen such a kajira since...." His voice trailed. Everyone knew about the day, though they liked to pretend it never happened. The day his father ran off with his kajira, leaving his wife, his son, and his kajiru to, well, everything.
But, he tried not to dwell on such things. He tried to look up, still looking very embarrassed, and nodded to her. "It is nice to meet you, gillian." He heard his free woman friend talking about the "epidemic", and quite frankly, he'd have to agree, but for different reasons. He did not fault the kajira for anything. It was not their fault that they were made slaves. However, due to the high amount of slaves, it was hard to get a job, as people would rather have someone work for them for free than to have someone pay for them. He had even joined a group for men who wanted slaves out of the workforce (although when someone talked about banning slavery altogether, he was kicked out for thinking such an "insane" idea; nobody wanted to have their own personal slaves gotten rid of.)
However, he did not scorn or hate them for simply being slaves. After all, his own lover was one, and he had a kajira himself. "nese, why don't you introduce yourself? Do not worry, you won't get the same reception as with the free women you met."

Gevaldi inclined his head at her. "An Earthling as well I see?" He'd thought as much. "What do you think of your new home nese?" He watched the kajira thoughtfully. She was attractive, which meant Nehayat would have to keep her close or someone might try to get her away from him.

Re: Fun at the Marketplace
As she was faced with a Free Person who was also a Master, gillian immediately dropped to her knees, head bowed as she'd been instructed, and greeted him with the respect due him. "Thank you Sir. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

He nodded. "You know I couldn't fight my way out of a paper bag, so I had bought her at the auctions. However, she is a very sweet girl, nontheless." He felt odd being bowed to, but smiled, nodding her head to her. "If you are going to be bowing like that a lot, would you like something to protect your knees if you do so?" He had a bag from some of the things he had bought before, and they could be made into knee protectors.
Re: Fun at the Marketplace
nese was blushing furiously now. The way he's looking at me, it's like he knows what I look like naked! She glanced back at his kajira. Oh, he probably has a pretty good idea. She tried to quickly answer him, but she didn't know what she should say before it was already coming out of her mouth.
"My master has kept me comfortable since I came to him, and I love being with him. He's helped me greatly with the transition. Thank you for asking." nese looked to Sir for approval to her answer.

"True, very true. You've always had trouble with things of that nature. There is no need for you to give her something to protect her knees. We will be acquiring a small pallet for her to keep with her for that purpose." He noticed the blush and smirked a little. The young kajira really had no idea what could have happened to her had she been purchased by a differet type of Master.

Re: Fun at the Marketplace
nese focused on a spot on the ground and tried to force herself to stop blushing, but her efforts only seemed to backfire. She stole another glance at gillian, and couldn't help but compare herself to her. gillian looked like a delicate flower of a woman. nese thought of herself more like a workhorse, with her broader frame. How long were her brown roots now? Two, three inches? gillian wore a collar made of gold, but nese wore a functional one made of iron. In fact, everything about gillian's apperance said "prized trophy" while nese though her apperance said "utilitarian" at best. But perhaps what bothered nese most was how gillian's master pulled her close to him, while Sir always kept her at a distance. nese knew she had to stop herself from thinking like that. She knew she could never have such a close relationship with Sir, and to allow herself to have such a fantasy would only hurt her. Maybe going out today wasn't such a good idea.
Re: Fun at the Marketplace
Sir smiled, and nodded. "I'm glad... I do not want her to be hurting her legs by doing so." He looked over to nese, but frowned. she seemed... very sad. The Master wondered what was the trouble. He walked over to her, and hugged her gently. "nese? Is everything OK?" He still cared about her, and was always worrying about how she felt about different things (which explains why he is always feeling guilty for making her his slave like this, wishing that she could be free, and simply work for her (with pay, of course!).
Re: Fun at the Marketplace
nese rested her head on his shoulder. She breathed in his scent and held it for a moment. "It's just.. I'm just not accustomed to this heat." She pulled away from him and smiled, trying to convince him she was fine. "Please don't worry about me."

((I guess we all ran out of ideas. Or went out and got lives. I know I'm more the former than the latter. Hmmm...... We need new blood. How to find people...?))

((I check here once per day, but it looks like the person I was RPing with has abandoned it. And yes, I suck at life to not be able to go out, but not enough to be able to raid in WoW.))

((OK, it's been a couple of weeks, so I'm gonna go write her out. Don't ask me what good it'll do.))

Re: Fun at the Marketplace
(I apologize for mine and gillian's absence. It isn't that we are uninterested, things have just been very hectic. We have twins who keep us busy, along with my work, and we have another kajira in the home, one we rescued from a bad situation.)

Re: Fun at the Marketplace
gillian watched the other woman through her lashes. She wore clothes that were less revealing and yet she still seemed uncomfortable. gillian had no way of knowing that the other woman was feeling that way because of -her-. when the conversation was over and her Master led her away she puzzled over everything.
As the day wore on and their shopping was concluded she lost some of her unease. The pride she felt in wearing her Master's collar showed in the way she carried herself. Still she was grateful to be back in the privacy of her Master's home away from prying eyes. That night she went to bed with a faint smile on her face.
It was some days later when they received an invitation to a party and her Master informed her that she would have to be on her best behavior then. She was torn between looking forward to it and being stressed out over it.

(( *nods* It's fine. Was worried about you for a while there, though. Then again, I have no life. |D ))
