Screw it; This place needs revival! Party at Sir's place!
So far, Sir's place in his job seemed guaranteed. This was a big thing, as such security usually wasn't all that common, but, it seemed as though everything would be alright... and thus, he decided to celebrate, inviting his friends, even the free women, hoping they would not be too offended to be in the same room as a kajira, not wanting her to miss out as well. He knew that Jael would have to stand watch at the door until all the guest were in, and then stand guard at his mother's room, just in case... you never knew.
But right now, he was helping Jael with making the food for the celebration, having saved up a bit for it. After all, if he lost his job, he could use that money as a nest egg, and if everything was alright, well, you can see why. He had asked Diana/Nese to help with decorations, and cleaning the windows. Later, when done with food, he'd help clean the tables and other furniture.

Joey sighed a little as he helped set the table and decorate. He'd been on the auction block three times, and none of the free women who had bid on him had met the reserve on his auction. So the auctioneer kept recording a No Sale, or whatever its equivalent was, and he'd go back to his stall.
And then Jael had come and asked if he could be rented out. So here he was, helping decorate and trying to avoid being too feminine. Which didn't really work, considering his training.
He didn't know where he would be during the party, nor did he really care. As long as none of the gorilla-men decided they wanted him to be a red silk slave instead of a white silk one...

(( I'ma going to go on until some more people come, alright? Then we can get a real pattern started. ))
Sir had felt it beyond Jael's duty to do that, especially since Jael could have been simply snatched away from him, with no recourse to get him back. But, everything turned out alright (though, Jael still ended up going to bed with an aching ear after that.) Sir had tried to be as nice as he could, though, it was a little more awkward with Joey than it was with Diana/Nese. Although Joey may not have understood it, while Sir could technically treat Diana/Nese anyway he wanted (though, he treated her as kindly and fairly as he possibly could), he had to be more careful around Joey, to keep from giving off the wrong messages, especially ones that weren't true, such as an attraction to the boy (which, no offense, but he had a preference for men with a little more meat on their bones. Mmm.)
(( By the way, most awkward note, EVER. XD ))

Joey didn't notice. He simply tried to behave as he was supposed to, and ignored the awkwardness that ensued whenever he got too close to the person who had gotten him out of that stall. He wasn't sure what to make of it, but he tried to not let it show.
He could tell some of the free women were making eyes at him, and he lapped it up like he was supposed to. Some were disgusted, some were attracted, and he couldn't tell what one was thinking. She kept staring at him, and then looking away when he made it aparrent she was looking at him.
But he had more important things to do. Like decorating the tables and stuff.

(( OK.. should I post again, or what? ^^; ))
Re: Screw it; This place needs revival! Party at Sir's place!
Nese thought she heard her name and snapped out of her daze. She'd been busy the last few days with preparations for the party (and the last few nights worrying about it) and was exhausted now. She thought she was hiding it well, but obviously she now knew she wasn't. She replaced an empty tray of hor'dourves with a fresh one, then looked scanned the room to see if anything else needed immediate attention.

Sir decided to go see how Nese was doing. So, he went over to her. "Is everything alright, Nese?" She seemed both very nervous, and tired.
( It's to the revive the thread :3 )

"Oh! Everything is just fine, Sir! Thank you, but there's no need to worry about me!" she lied.
Since Sir had started taking her out in public, she was starting to see what a kajira's life was really like. Nese started to notice girls getting yelled at or smacked for any percieved transgression, real or not. The first time Nese saw a girl hit unfairly by a man who didn't seem to be her master, she begged Sir to interviene, but he just shrugged and said it was the slave's burden to bear, and only her Master can stop it. Nese was always worried about her behavior for Sir's sake, but now she was worried about her behavior for her own sake. Sir would never raise a hand to her, but she wasn't sure about these other men.

(( Weird... I never saw him as being one to shrug things off like that. He wouldn't do anything about it, as that would be just simply dangerous on his and her part, but he'd take her aside and tell her that there really was nothing that he could do. He's really too sympathetic to be in a Gorean world. By the way, you don't happen to have a IM program, do you? ))

(( Anyway... ))
Sir, however, would have attacked the first man to hit his slave, just by instinct. He liked her, and didn't want her to be hurt by anyone, especially for a stupid reason. Even when he saw others' slaves being beaten, it took all his strength to hold himself back. When he shrugged Nese off, he felt himself being torn to pieces.
Why Nese would ever choose to be here instead of going back to her own planet was beyond him.
